LABEX of MA is committed to achieve excellence and dedicated to promote quality management and care in the field of laboratory animal science. In that regard, we encourage professional development and we participate in numerous programs exchanging information, participating in trade shows, supporting public outreach and educational projects. One way that we support the science community is through our memberships to the organizations listed below.


American Association for Laboratory Animal Science (AALAS)

AALAS is the premier forum for the exchange of information and expertise in the care and use of laboratory animals. Since 1950, they've been dedicated to the humane care and treatment of laboratory animals and the quality research that leads to scientific gains that benefit people and animals.

American Association for Laboratory Animal Science San Diego Branch (SDAALAS)

SDAALAS is a part of the largest AALAS District in the U.S. They share resources amongst other branches in order to provide an equal access to information and new techniques presented in papers, posters, workshops and tours.

Arizona Branch of American Association for Laboratory Animal Science (AALAS)

Just as there are many types of lab animals, there is a great diversity of people whose work involves animal care and use, including: the scientist who designs and conducts research, the veterinarian who supervises the care of animals, the animal caretaker or technician who monitors the animals while providing daily care, the representatives of a company that sells products or services used in lab animals. To benefit these people AZAALAS was set up as an information network for those involved with lab animal science in any way. AALAS depends on its' members to remain informed & grow.

CANADIAN ASSOCIATION FOR LABORATORY ANIMAL SCIENCE

Since 1962, CALAS has been working to eliminate inhumane and unnecessary use of animals in research. Working with a membership comprised of veterinarians, physicians, researchers, administrators and technicians, CALAS has achieved many successes in improving the care of laboratory animals in research, teaching and testing.

Delaware Valley Branch American Association for Laboratory Animal Science (DVBAALAS)

DVBAALAS is committed to achieving excellence and innovation in the field of laboratory animal science by providing an open forum for communication, promoting education and training and disseminating information concerning the benefits of humane care and use of animals in biomedical research. The Branch offers a variety of educational programs and seminars throughout the year and participates in the Tribranch Symposium held in June of each year.

Michigan Branch of American Association for Laboratory Animal Science (AALAS)

To advance and disseminate knowledge concerning the responsible care and use of laboratory animals for the benefit of human and animal health. To promote fellowship and cooperation among members and other professional organizations interested in the humane treatment of laboratory animals. To sponsor and promote professional, educational, and training programs for Branch members and others who are engaged in the responsible production, care, handling, and use of laboratory animals. National Capital Area Branch American Association for Laboratory Animal Science (NCAB)

Organized in 1961, the National Capital Area Branch (NCAB) of the American Association for Laboratory Animal Science is the local affiliate of the AALAS. NCAB has grown into a major educational organization promoting improvements in the humane care and use of laboratory animals and the advancement of laboratory animal science. The NCAB serves the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia.

The mission of NEBAALAS is to carry out the program of the American Association for Laboratory Animal Science at the local level. Research Triangle Branch-American Association of Laboratory Animal Science

RTB-AALAS draws from an area with diverse and expansive opportunities in research, technology and development. The Research Triangle Park has been rated #3 nationally in technology and development. There are 309 members, including technicians, vendors, veterinarians, and investigators. The RTB-AALAS sponsors a number of activities including technician night, an awards banquet, and educational opportunities.

Allied Trade Association (ATA)

The ATA is a member of the AALAS Site Selection Committee. The ATA is invited to all AALAS Board of Trustee meetings and sits on the fledgling AALAS Exhibitor Advisory Committee.
